WQB Mold Removal is a River Forest, IL-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
Our field techs are equipped with negative-air machines, HEPA filtration units, and borescopes for checking inside wall cavities without tearing the whole thing open unnecessarily.
WQB Mold Removal has passed inspection with River Forest, IL environmental and health authorities on remediation protocol, and we keep that documentation on file for every job.
Ask any River Forest property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
Our office staff handle scheduling and billing questions directly, so you're never stuck on hold with an answering service when you have a question about your job.
Here's what our technicians hear most often right before a homeowner finally picks up the phone.
That earthy odor in a closet or crawl space is often the first real clue, long before anything is visible. Candles and air fresheners might mask it for an afternoon, but the smell almost always returns by the next day.
Any River Forest property with a prior roof leak, burst pipe, or flooding event is at higher risk if the drying wasn't done professionally. If a previous restoration job skipped moisture readings before closing the walls back up, hidden growth can sit undetected for months.
Sneezing, coughing, or headaches that improve when you leave the house and return when you're back inside are a classic mold indicator. A pattern of symptoms tied to one specific room in the house is often the strongest clue of all.
By the time spotting is visible on a painted wall, the growth has usually been active for weeks already. Don't assume a small visible patch means a small problem — the portion behind the drywall is often much larger.
Every job starts with an inspection, not a guess, so the scope of work matches what's really growing behind your walls.
Active flooding and sewage backups get priority scheduling since the mold clock starts ticking almost immediately. We also photograph the damage extensively on arrival, which helps considerably if you end up filing an insurance claim afterward.
Once remediation is complete, we run post-remediation verification testing so you have documentation the job actually worked. Affected drywall, insulation, and carpet padding are bagged and removed according to protocol rather than just tossed loose in a truck bed.
We provide documentation packages commercial clients can hand directly to insurers or tenants. Multi-tenant properties in River Forest sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Buying a River Forest home? A pre-purchase mold inspection can catch problems a standard home inspection misses entirely. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a River Forest property.
Vapor barriers, sump discharge lines, and vent placement all factor into why crawl spaces in River Forest, IL grow mold even in homes that look fine upstairs. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
For River Forest properties with chronic humidity issues, we design a long-term moisture control plan, not just a one-time fix. Some River Forest, IL clients set up an annual moisture check with us, especially in older homes with a history of basement dampness.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
A quick phone conversation helps us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip. Have a rough sense of when the problem started if you can — it helps us plan the visit.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. You'll get a plain-language explanation of what we found before any decisions get made.
Containment barriers go up first, then affected materials are removed, treated, and HEPA-vacuumed according to industry protocol. We keep the work area as clean and orderly as the job allows throughout.
A final clearance test confirms spore counts are back to normal before we consider the job finished. Any lingering questions get answered on the spot before we pack up.
Our estimates are itemized line by line, which means you know exactly what you're paying for and why.
Dispatch times in River Forest typically run same-day for active issues, because we staff enough local technicians to avoid the two-week backlog other companies run.
We hand you lab results and a written scope of work, giving you something concrete beyond our word.
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a River Forest home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Word of mouth is still how most of our River Forest, IL customers find us, which tells you something about how the last job usually goes.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

Answers to what River Forest homeowners ask us most.
Most River Forest calls get a technician on-site the same day, and active emergencies are prioritized ahead of routine inspections. If you're dealing with active water intrusion, mention that when you call so we can flag the job as urgent.
Yes — every job gets a flat-rate, itemized quote before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice at the end. If we discover additional damage once we open a wall, we'll stop and get your approval before doing any extra work or adding any cost.
Emergency dispatch is available 24/7 for situations where waiting even a day could worsen the damage. We also coordinate directly with plumbers or roofers when the source of the water needs to be stopped before drying can even begin.
We collect air or surface samples and send them to an independent lab for species identification and spore-count analysis. We'll walk you through what the lab report actually means in plain terms, not just hand you a page of Latin names.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. Our detailed photo documentation and written scope of work are formatted to make the claims process as painless as possible.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. Pets are usually fine staying in an unaffected part of the River Forest home, but we'll flag any exceptions during the walkthrough.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. HEPA filtration during the job significantly reduces airborne spore counts outside the sealed work area.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
"Removal" implies eliminating all mold entirely, which isn't realistic since spores exist naturally everywhere, while "remediation" means returning spore levels to a normal, safe range. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
DIY treatment can also mask a problem temporarily, which sometimes delays proper remediation until the issue has spread further. Bleach also doesn't address whatever moisture condition allowed mold to grow in the first place, so the same spot often returns within weeks.
